Wrapping Up The 2012 Lomond Folk Festival

Lomond Folk Festival 2013As the Lomond Folk Festival comes to a close for another year, and just before the committee all go to  sleep for a week, we’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who came along and enjoyed the music, workshops & events of this years festival, it was great to see so many people braving the sporadic showers with umbrellas and pink ponchos, in true Scottish defiance of the weather! As you can no doubt imagine organising such a large event as a charity with no full time employees can be challenging but to see regulars & newbies, people old & new having a great time at our Festival makes all the effort well worth it.

We must also offer gratefull thank yous to all the artists, performers and workshop leaders who came along to entertain you, the craft fair & market stall holders, Claire, Georgia and all the team at The Gateway Centre who really went above & beyond to ensure the smooth running of the evening concerts, Awards For All Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council, ACK Events, Love Loch Lomond and all the buisnesses in Balloch and the surrounding area whose help ensures the Festival can run.

A final, special thanks has to go to the volunteers who worked tirelessly over the weekend with smiles on their faces, without you putting on a festival of this size over two sites would have been impossible, your willingness to help out anywhere you could, even in the pouring rain, just because you wanted to help out in humbling & innvigorating.

We sincerely hope you all enjoyed the Lomond Folk Festival 2012 and will be making plans to head back to Loch Lomondside for our 14th annual festival,  the Lomond Folk Festival 2013, which will surely be even bigger and better than ever! (get it in your diary 26th-28th July)
