Born on the Isle of Harris, Iain Angus has developed a distinctive style of playing since taking up the accordion at the age of 11.  That was only six years ago and yet already he has made his mark on the traditional music circuit with the recent release of his first CD, Chě Mi’n Těr .  At various stages he has performed alongside Phil Cunningham, Malcolm Jones, Donald Black, Fergie MacDonald and Blair Douglas, and will be competing in the semi-finals of BBC Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician Of The Year 2008.  From the Fiddlers Rally and the Pan Celtic Festival to several live slots on Radio nan Gaidheal and winner of numerous competitions, Iain Angus MacLeod is unquestionably bound for long-term success as an acclaimed musician.

Maybe best remembered as former Runrig frontman, Donnie Munro continues to address the themes which have always been close to his heart.  Donnie's work, both with Runrig and as a solo artist, has been inspired by the history, culture and contemporary experience of his Highlands and Islands homeland, placing these resonant themes within a modern international context.

Donnie left Runrig in 1997 to seek a career in politics which sadly eluded him. Luckily for all us fans, in 1999 Donnie heard the call of the recording studio and with help from Chris Harley, they recorded what turned out to be his first solo album "On the West Side" which was released in 2000. Donnie got a band together and they went off and played live again to the fans long starved of that unique voice Donnie has.  This year we have been lucky enough to secure him for our Ninth Lomond Folk Festival.

Describing himself as a Left handed, balding, middle-aged, songwriting folky from Scotland's highest village, Dave hails from the village of Wanlockhead in Dumfries and Galloway.  He can occasionally be seen zipping up and down the M74/M6 (always within the speed limit of course) spreading the word to anyone who cares to listen.

Dave who? you may well ask.........Well  -  armed with a style of guitar playing that is best described as being as distinctive as it is effective, a voice that can carry traditional and contemporary songs and a songwriting ability that produces songs ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous he has now pretty much established himself as a regular performer throughout the acoustic/folk club, festival and concert scene.

Back by popular demand after a storming success at last years festival the Gypsies are a Dynamic 5 piece band based in Central Scotland playing a lively mix of Celtic Folk, Latin & Pop Covers, including Original Songs & Tunes.

After venturing to the continent several times in the early 90s, they were invited to appear at the Arran Folk Festival in 1994.  During this time the band enjoyed a period of success and recognition.  This wave of publicity was generated not least as a result of the attention of Danny Kyle, Glasgow's 'Godfather of folk' who showed a great interest in the band and was influential in the Raggles securing a respected reputation within the Scottish folk scene.

The Kingsmen are an English traditional dance team founded in 1949 by Prof Bill Cassie of King's College Durham (hence the name), since 1963 a university in its own right, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (hence the other bit of the name). English and traditional may have you reaching for your bells and hankies, or for a shotgun, but desist! The English traditions involved here are northern – from Northumberland, Durham, Yorkshire and Lancashire. These unlikely bedfellows are represented in the Kingsmen performances by Rapper dancing (Northumberland and Durham), the Grenoside Longsword dance (Yorkshire) and the Royton processional northwest clog dance (Lancashire).
